Eating Out Gluten Free - Lincoln

Hi, it's Jo from An Easy Gluten Free Life here and as many of you already know - I am very lucky to live in the beautiful city of Lincoln with it's castle, cathedral and historical buildings. When I first moved here 7 years ago - Lincoln was a very sleepy city and even in the height of summer, you could stroll around the historic Bailgate without seeing another soul. Now, thanks to some brilliant work by the local community - Lincoln and it's cathedral, castle and stunning Bailgate are firmly on the tourism map. Perhaps the biggest event of the year is Lincoln Christmas Market - a huge outdoor market set in the wonderful grounds of Lincoln castle. If you are here for the market - please check out my guide to stalls offering gluten free on Facebook or Instagram :)

Thanks largely to the boost in tourism, Lincoln has a fantastic range of restaurants and bars - many of which offer gluten free dishes. Lincoln is very historic and unfortunately a lot of restaurant kitchens are too small to offer separate gluten free preparation areas.  However, I find that staff knowledge is generally excellent and kitchen systems are in place to minimise the risk of cross-contamination. All of the restaurants listed have been contacted about their cross contamination processes and have assured me that they do their best to minimise risk - however, please do check with them beforehand as things can always change.
